Brittany Andrews
"I started off as a regular strip club dancer in Milwaukee, Wisconsin where I was offered then to start doing feature dancing. I started traveling around the world doing that for quite some time. I then moved into doing magazines..."Brittany Andrews, member of the AVN Hall of Fame, is one of the most famous performers in the world of adult entertainment. She is a very pleasant person, I remember meeting her in Las Vegas several years ago, and she was always available for an interview, to take her time to answer the questions.

In this interview we talk about her very first experience in the adult entertainment world, why she decided to take a break and why she returned. And about her many (really many) projects, in the adult entertainment world and mainstream.
You have just returned in front of the camera playing the role of Samantha in New Sensations upcoming Sex and the City parody. Why did you decide to come back and how was it?
When I left the adult business three years ago, I had been in the adult entertainment industry for 16 years. I believe that I was just burnt out. I was very uninspired by everything. I had done it all - I had seen it all. I did not leave because I had a bad experience or became a Christian-LOL. So I decided to move on and try something new. I moved to New York City and went to film school. Also when choosing to go to film school I knew that if I wanted to go back to the adult entertainment industry that my time of study would be useful if I did go back.I graduated from school last August. As I was moving forward in doing different projects here in New York City out of nowhere I just started to get more and more things that were somewhat adult related. I realized I have been in the business 16 years and it is what I love. I was missing pretty much everything about the adult entertainment industry and decided that I would be comfortable moving forward with going back into the business. I had my time out-so that I could come back with a fresh and new perspective point of view.

What have you been doing lately?
Like I said for two years I was going to film school. During that time pretty much all I did was film school. It was a pretty intense course. It was seven days a week, 20 hours a day. I did one year Filmmaking and another year of Producing. I went to the New York film Academy in Union Square. I graduated from school last August. Since then I have been working on various different projects such as a few music videos, commercials, short films and reality pilots. I currently am working on an upcoming documentary called Stage Brother that I am Producing with Director Richard Bounagurio about his sister's journey to enter the adult industry. Besides Producing it, I am also featured in the doc as the sister's mentor as they goes through various challenges as she becomes more emerged into the business. My coming out of retirement and going back into the business - juxtaposes her coming into the business for her first time in the film.

I also will be overseeing the launch of These Showers Can Talk, a mainstream film directed by Gabrielle Lindau. A comedic improv film that I starred in that focuses on a relationship that hits every lesbian stereotype.
I also am working on Producing a play called Porning the Planet: The De-Sensitiz Nation of a Generation -with Penny Arcade and Raquel Almazon. This multi-media piece exposes the pornography of everyday life as we download a porn star's metamorphosis from beauty queen to space alien, resulting in the last frontier for men to conquer.
I of course have other things that I am working on as well but these are just a few of them :)
Is this a 'one shot only' or does this comeback sign a new phase in your acting career?
Actually I am hoping that this will be a new phase in my acting career. In the past I have focused more on Producing and Directing. Which of course I'm still going to be doing however in a different way than I had before. Whereas with my comeback I am hoping to be more in front of the camera as well this time around. I very much enjoyed doing the Parody and I'm looking forward to hopefully doing more Parodies. I do very much enjoy doing comedy. When I was younger I used to do a bit of standup comedy at the Improv in Los Angeles. I have been behind the scenes for three years, I am ready to be in front of the cameras again!!!! I am a Leo of course :) Let's go back in time. Can you tell us how you started, how did you get into the world of adult movies?
I started off as a regular strip club dancer in Milwaukee, Wisconsin where I was offered then to start doing feature dancing. I started traveling around the world doing that for quite some time. I then moved into doing magazines. While in Jamaica shooting for a High Society and Cheri Magazine I met Jenna Jameson. She told me I needed to move to Los Angeles-which I did right when I got back home. I moved to Los Angeles and lived with her and Nikki Tyler for a short period of time. The advice that they gave me was extremely valuable in cultivating the brand that I have created for myself today. I appreciated very much all the help that they gave me. Do you remember your first performance, how was it, your feelings on the set of your very first adult movie…?
To tell you the truth when I am extremely nervous I really don't remember very much. I do know in the scene Jon Dough had to slap me a few times which was trippy for a first scene back then. It was part of the story line - the dialogue. Not any type of degradation that is so popular nowadays. That's about all that I remember. Oh yes after that I gave my mother a call completely crying and freaking out saying that I was going to get AIDS. That was my one and only scene in the entire time I have been in the business that I have ever not used a condom. After that first scene I have used condoms in all of my performances. How many movies have you performed in, and how many awards have you won in your career?
That is a difficult one. I am not exactly sure. 16 years is a long time. The best piece of advice you would give to an aspiring adult movie star?
To take it slow. Only do what you are comfortable with. If you're not sure what your comfortable with, take some time and really think about it, before jumping into things that you might regret later. As psychotherapy can be extremely expensive. Take care of yourself and nurture yourself. Save and invest your money and use condoms :) If you had a daughter, and one day she told you "Mom, I want to become a porn star!" what would you tell her? What would your reaction be like?
I would just say No :) Your current and future projects?
Besides the things that I mentioned above I will also be working on updating my website www.clubbrittany.com. I also want to finish construction on www.straponfantasies.com. Also looking to perhaps go back to Producing Directing and Starring in my own line of strap on films. I also am very interested in having my own novelty toy line of straps on as well. That is actually a major dream of mine and also one of the reasons I came back into the adult entertainment industry!!!! As the current ones that are out there for purchase suck!!!!! Has reality killed the 'real' adult entertainment industry?
What has killed the adult entertainment industry is the availability of content for free everywhere on the Internet. Reality has nothing to do with that. Except the fact that, that is the current reality of the adult business. Official website: www.clubbrittany.com
